Welcome to Horizon Music Group. For thirty years a force in music recording and production in New England, Modeled on classic American studios like Muscle Shoals and Motown. An oasis where full bands can play together in a great sounding room as well as use more recent computer based methods. We specialize in Rock, Blues, Gospel and Americana in Studio A; R&B and Hip-Hop in Studio B.

Our rooms are a blend of great analog front end . powerful computer workstations and excellent acoustic spaces, excellent monitoring, comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and people whose experience spans all tasks in the modern music business, from band player, to engineer, producer, up to major label imprint exec.

Who We Are:

Vic Steffens: Owner, engineer, producer, studio musician and label exec. Voted Producer of the Year in 2016, nominated again in 2018. Close to 50 years in the music business from Connecticut’s iconic Scratch band, to studio work with the Rolling Stones, Donavan, Bobby Brown, Harry Connick Jr. and more. Sessions with world class producers like Mike Chapman, Andrew Loog Oldham and Paul Leka. Vic has producer projects for regional artists like Mighty Purple. Gargantua Soul, Frank Viele, The Breakfast, Steve Rodgers Someone you Can Xay, and more. Frank Viele’s Fall your Way CD was voted New England Record of the Year in 2016.

Rick Demko: Horizon engineer/producer, multi instrumentalist, and artist promotion and development specialist. Rick also maintains his own independent label producing new talent from all around the Northeast.

Franklin Scott: Resident Hip Hop and R and B pro Franklin bring an ear for modern pop to the Horizon mix. A graduate of New York’s SAE Audio Academy also handles our duplication division.

What We Do:

Recording: The core of Horizon is the two recording studios. Open to the public, Horizon’s rooms are available for general hire. Call for dates and information.

Production: Both Vic Steffens and Rick Demko work with acts in a producer capacity. Production involves all aspects of the artist’s performance. Song writing consultation, arrangement, tracking, vocal direction, mixing and mastering.

Artist Development: Performance consultation, management, booking, promotion. Generally, building your band and your brand.

HMG and Neurotronics Records: Independent record labels.
